The Italian Knot

Posted in Uncategorized by redeagletribe on January 18, 2010

Over the years I have tried all the different tie knots possible and only two knots fell to my liking, the classic four-in-hand and my personal favorite the Italian Knot.  The Italian knot is essentially a four-in-hand wrapped around twice. I ultimately enjoy the nonchalance versatility of the knot itself, since the wearer can either tie it a little loose to fill the gap in a spread collar or pulled a bit more tight to fit in a button down collar. It is the near imperfection of the knot that draws my attention.

Mink Oil

Posted in Uncategorized by redeagletribe on January 11, 2010

The frustrating thing about leather boots are the water stains aquiried during the rain. Mink oil was recommened to me by my father which he used for his motorcycle leather jackets, and figured it might work on my desert boots. Mink oil not only to help waterproof the leather but also conditions and softens the leather. A word of caution though when mink oil is used it will darken the color of the leather, but the color looked great on the desert boots. Anyways give mink oil a look if you need to waterproof your outdoor leather boots this winter.

Lands End Canvas Oxford

Posted in Uncategorized by redeagletribe on January 11, 2010

I just wanted to take this time talk about the Lands End Canvas Oxford. I have mentioned the new Canvas line previously in Red Eagle, but after aquiring the blue oxford over the holidays I must say that it is one of the best oxfords that I have run across and for only $30 you just can’t beat it. The quality of the oxford shirt is solid and the fit is the best part of the shirt. Lands End trimmed up the chest and sleeve width to give the shirt a tailored feel, but they even shortend up the button down collar which is great. This shirt is really a steal so I recommend that you get one before they are all gone.
